This recipe is for breadsticks and pizza dough. Both variations are included here....ENJOY!!
Mickel Sticks
(Thank you so much for sharing Sam!!)
1 T. yeast
1 tsp. sugar
1 1/2 c. hot water
Mix in bowl and proof for 10 min or so until bubbly.
Add:
4 c. flour
1/4 c. sugar
1 tsp. salt
Mix and knead until smooth. Place in a well-greased large bowl. Turn once to coat. Cover with plastic wrap or towel. Let rise in a warm place for 1 hour (I put mine in a metal bowl and turn the oven on until it is barely on about 145*) or until double. Punch down.
Now from here it diverges...
Pizza Crust:
Divide dough in half. Place on floured board.
Roll out to about 1/2 inch thick (maybe a little thinner) or to the size desired
Dust pizza stone with corn meal (about 1 T.)
Put dough on stone and prick all over with fork.
Cover with desired sauce (not too much).
Add cheese and toppings.
Bake at 375 for about 12-15 min until golden and cheese is melted.
Bread Sticks:
Melt 2 T. butter (or margarine) in a 9x13 pan (make sure it covers the bottom of the
pan)
Grab a handful (egg sized?) of dough. Add flour if sticky.
Make a snake then put the ends together and twist a couple of times.
Roll in melted butter and place in pan.
Fill pan (I go long ways and do 2 rows)
Sprinkle garlic salt, paprika, parsley, parmesan cheese or whatever you want. (I've done cinnamon and sugar before.)
Let rise if you want to. (I never have time!)
Bake at 350 for 12-15 min or until golden.
