One of our favorite things to do when we are on a road trip is to make a stop at the Red Barn in Santaquin, Utah. The Red Barn is a family owned business. They have a variety of fresh apples right from their orchard for sale. They also sale apple slushees, apple cider donuts, and fresh, incomparable, delicious apple juice!
Last time we visited the store, they had samples of the most incredible hot apple cider I have ever had! Since then we made it for our family for Christmas Dinner and it was a huge hit!
Hot Mulled Cider
1 gallon Red Barn Apple Juice
3/4 cup brown sugar
12 whole cloves
4-5 cinnamon sticks
Combine ingredients in a large stockpot or skillet. Heat it through on the stove, and then pour the contents into your beverage jug and take it to your family party to share!
Clover's Note: We did not strain it. We kept it in our Coleman beverage jug and used the spigot to serve the cider in individual glasses.
From the time we took it off the stove and drove to the family party, ate, and served the cider, it was probably about 3 hours. Because the spices were able to simmer for so long, the cider was incredibly flavorful and delicious!
