We had root beer floats, and we ran out of ice cream before we ran out of root beer. What do you do with all of that extra root beer? Make pulled pork sandwiches! Seriously so good!
Slow Cooker Pulled Pork
(idea from Livie's Mammy on allrecipes.com, along with a few other ideas off of the internet)
3 lbs. Pork shoulder or tenderloin (we did shoulder)
about 1 liter Root Beer (you need enough to cover the pork in your crock pot)
18 oz. bottle of BBQ Sauce (we did Sweet Baby Ray's Hickory and Brown Sugar)
Hamburger Buns (we did the whole wheat buns)
Place the pork in a slow cooker, and pour the root beer over the meat until it is covered. Cover and cook on low until well cooked and the pork shreds easily, about 7 hours. Drain well. Shred and stir in favorite BBQ sauce. Serve over hamburger buns.
Enjoy!
