Cherry Cheese Bread Wreath
(Thank you Stella!!!)
This is always a hit during Christmas, Valentine's Day, or any day for that matter!
8 oz. pkg. cream cheese, softened
1/3 cup powdered sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla or almond extract
2 (8 oz.) packages refrigerated crescent rolls
1 cup canned cherry pie filling
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1 - 2 tsp. milk
Preheat oven to 350. In a mixing bowl: combine cream cheese, 1/3 cup powdered sugar, and vanilla; mix until smooth. Unroll crescent dough and place each triangle shaped piece with the points outward, leaving a large hole in the middle of your cookie sheet. (Your dough should look like a sun when you are finished.) Spread dough out with your fingers. Spread cream cheese mixture on dough. Spoon cherry pie filling on top of cream cheese. Fold dough points inward and seal at center. (You can twist dough when folding inward for a fancier look.) Bake until golden, 25-30 minutes. Cool slightly.
For glaze: Mix remaining powdered sugar and milk until smooth; drizzle over bread wreath.
Serve warm. Makes 12 servings.
