Terrific Turkey Cheese Ball

I am a bit of a cheeseball fanatic...Out of all of the cheeseballs I have ever tasted, this one is my favorite. It has incredible flavor and is ridiculously addictive. Happy Thanksgiving!

Turkey Cheese Ball
(See step-by-step pictures on the website: http://www.handmadeintheheartland.com/2013/11/thanksgiving-cheese-ball.html)

Ingredients:

2-8 oz pkgs of cream cheese; softened
2 T. minced onion
1/2 T. minced green bell pepper
1-8 oz can crushed pineapple; well drained
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1/2 tsp. onion powder
1 cup chopped pecans

For Decorating:
pretzel sticks
whopper candy
beef jerky stick
candy eyes
candy corn
fun size twizzlers/fruit roll up
chocolate icing or melted chocolate (I would recommend melted chocolate)

Directions:

Mix all ingredients (other than the pecans) together until well combined.

With damp hands, roll the mixture into a ball and then roll in chopped pecans.

Wrap it in wax paper and put it in the fridge to chill and firm up a bit.

Decorate:
To make the turkey "feathers" stick your pretzel sticks into the back half of the cheese ball.

To create the head, take a stick of beef jerky and "glue" a whopper candy on top with melted chocolate or icing. (You can put melted chocolate into a plastic bag and then clip the corner.)
We tried the icing route, but I would recommend the melted chocolate for a stronger "glue." You could also attach the whopper and then put it in the fridge to get it firmly attached before moving on to the rest of the face.

Attach the nose and eyes also with the chocolate.

We made the gobbler by pulling off a strip from a fun size twizzler. You could also cut a little strip of fruit roll up. You lay it over the candy corn, no need for glue.

Voila! Serve with your favorite crackers. Enjoy!
